Today we see
Cherubs as plump, winged, children. Cherub is actually the plural of Cherubim. In the Jewish tradition they were often described as having four faces and four wings. They are said to be in the very presence of God. They are included among the Angels and in Hebrew Scriptures they are described as throne bearers of God. They are constant attendants to God and praise him continuously. They are said to dwell in a section of Heaven inaccessible to the Devil. They are members of the second order of Angels whose gift is knowledge. They are celestial beings that symbolize dignity, glory, and honor.
