Get ready for gardening

I know we are in the middle of winter……..but. While you are waiting for the snow to leave and the weather to warm it is a good time to take a look at your gardening tools. Do you use a Garden Tiller? This is an ideal time to get it serviced. The shops might be busy with Snow-Blowers but you are in no hurry and shops like to have jobs waiting so they can keep busy when there is a break in business. Do you do your own work? Get that tiller and other equipment in the garage and get it tuned up and ready. Make sure it will start. Perhaps a new tank of gas or replacing the spark plug is all it needs to be running like it should.

Check out your hand tools. Are the handles tight? Are there any parts broken or bent? Do your hand tools still do the job you want to perform or do you need something new? Perhaps it is time to see what is available. I suggest checking out Gardening Tools at this site. A Welcome way to Feed our freinds

Winter is here. We have had some heavy snows and it has made it difficult for our feathered freinds to find food. Consider a Garden Statue Bird Feeder. They are attractive, decorative, and useful.

T’is the Season

The snows coming and so is Christmas. I have seen a number of people that have lighted their Garden Statues or made a Christmas scene from whatever they had. I remember one lady had Fairies as angels and assorted animals, squirrels, rabbits, etc., as the other characters in an outdoor manger scene and then she illuminated it with those Solar Lights that people use along their walkways. She had the touch and it looked great. Another thing I thought was a good idea is putting food for the animals and birds in the fountains after they are drained for the winter. Might have clean up issues in the spring but, oh well. Getting ready to start hanging lights myself.

Here is a shot of our backyard when it is time to help out the wild life. We will have as many as thirty Turkeys eating at one time. We enjoy watching them, especially the antics of the Tom’s when they are trying to impress the females. This summer we got to watch the Hens come in with their new broods. The little guys follow Mom around and pay attention when she issues a warning. We watched them grow and now they are hard to tell from the adults. We wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving. The Garden Staue.
